Newsletter
Creativity, spirit and beloved community move us towards collective liberation - and it takes practice. This newsletter is a practice of freedom for me -- as place to rethink social justice and movement work from the perspective of freedom, joy, creativity in the midst of systems collapse. It is a place to share some of my tiny songs, and collage making as practices of regeneration.
It's called Practicing Freedom as Things Fall Apart as a homage to bell hooks, and other Black and intersectional feminists writing with on love, collective freedom and spirituality.
I paired ‘practicing freedom’ with ‘as things fall apart’ nodding to Chinua Achebe’s work and the contradictions of being inside a matrix of harmful, oppressive systems even as we wake up to the places we are already free.
Approximately monthly subscribers receive:
** a reflection on current inspirations and questions from my work with social justice groups, leaders and my own culture work and experiences
** a collage made by me
** a trail song written and sung by me.

"A beautiful song, so appreciative! Free to me right now means deeply appreciating the sensory web of prayer and movement, song, art which is flowing with Earth energies. What power we participate with! Which is what comes to me when you speak of making space for grief and joy--vulnerability within loving kindness is our strength, and this kind of presence...creates possibilities."
"I’m so glad you’re writing this and sharing your experience. Deeply inspired by your care, wisdom and leadership."
